I love my church! Today was an AMAZING Sunday as we rolled out big plans for this Fall and embraced a challenge together as a church family. Plus we saw DOUBLE the crowd size today from this same time last year!
Here’s the video that kicked off our Leap of Faith series today:
As we shared today, by God’s grace, our rapid and healthy growth already puts us in the top 4% of churches in North America. But God hasn’t called us to be “successful,” He has called us to be faithful and obedient to the Great Commission.
We will continue to do whatever it takes to reach people far from God and continue to grow not so that we can thump our chests, but so that we can help make heaven crowded!
The three big takeaways from Week One of our Leap of Faith series were:
- God has a PLAN and you have a PART.
“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20)
“Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?” (Amos 3:3)
- God doesn’t want something FROM you, He wants something FOR you.
The majority of Americans are NOT winning with their personal finances:
63% of Americans can’t cover an emergency of $500
56% of Americans have less than $1,000 in checking and savings combined
1/3 of all Americans have no savings
Average American has $8400 in credit card debt
You know who ARE WINNING with their personal finances? People who tithe.
A landmark new study of people tithing for 5 years found that:
80% have no unpaid credit card bills
74% have no car payments
48% own their home with no mortgage
26% are completely debt free
How to Give an Offering:
– In-kind donations
– Gifts above and beyond tithing
- Tithing is not God’s way of raising MONEY, it’s God’s way of raising HIS KIDS.
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My House. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it!” (Malachi 3:10)
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9)
Man, today was awesome.
Next Sunday we get to celebrate a whole bunch of baptisms at our Saginaw Campus.
And together, we are taking a leap of faith and believing that the best is yet to come!
